Quick Question: How many different emergency plans should I have for my pet?

Different emergencies call for different plans and tools to prepare effectively. With this in mind, it’s so important to think ahead about the different types of emergencies you may face in your area and come up with a plan for each.

There are four types of emergencies you could experience with your pet and they all require different emergency plans

  1. You’re home and need to evacuate with your pet
  2. You need to evacuate your pet, but can’t make it home on time
  3. You need to shelter in place with your pet
  4. You need to evacuate but need to leave your pet behind

With these four scenarios in mind, plan out how you would handle them with your pet, write down your plan and discuss it with your family.
